tisro mātrā mṛtyumatyaḥ prayuktā anyonyasaktā anaviprayuktāḥ | kriyāsu bāhyābhyantaramadhyamāsu samyak prayuktāsu na kampate jñaḥ
A subtle warning: the three mātrās, treated as separate, are still subject to mortality. Only when fully integrated — when A, U, M, and the silence flow as one — does the practice deliver the deathless. Integration, not addition, is the path.
Meaning
The three mātrās are mortal when used separately. But when joined together — interconnected and inseparable — applied rightly to outer, inner, and middle activities, the knower does not tremble.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya

A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
