sūryo yathā sarvalokasya cakṣurna lipyate cākṣuṣairbāhyadoṣaiḥ | ekastathā sarvabhūtāntarātmā na lipyate lokaduḥkhena bāhyaḥ
The sun illumines without being touched by what it illumines. So the Self illumines all experience — pleasant and painful — without being stained.
Meaning
As the sun, the eye of the whole world, is not tainted by external defects seen by the eye — so the One inner Self of all beings is not tainted by the sorrow of the world, being beyond it.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya
Science & Modern Application
शोध संदर्भResearch context · not scriptureComparative Research Noteशोध टिप्पणी
A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
