dhanurgṛhītvaupaniṣadaṃ mahāstraṃ śaraṃ hyupāsāniśitaṃ sandhayīta | āyamya tadbhāvagatena cetasā lakṣyaṃ tadevākṣaraṃ somya viddhi
The bow is the Upaniṣad (the teaching); the arrow is sharpened by upāsanā (devotional meditation). The bow alone is useless without the sharp arrow; the arrow useless without the absorbed mind that draws it. All three together strike the target.
Meaning
Having taken up the great weapon of the Upaniṣad — the bow — fit to it the arrow sharpened by upāsanā (worship-meditation). Drawing it with thought absorbed in that, dear one, strike: the target is the Imperishable.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya
Science & Modern Application

Skill-acquisition Research:
A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
