Levels of clarity. The clearest perception (mirror) is the Self in self-knowledge. Dream-like perception in pitṛ-loka; water-reflection in gandharva-loka; light-and-shadow in brahma-loka. The hierarchy maps levels of subtle perception.
Meaning
As in a mirror, so in the Self; as in dream, so in the world of the ancestors; as if reflected in water, so in the world of the gandharvas; as light and shadow, so in the world of Brahman.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya
Science & Modern Application
शोध संदर्भResearch context · not scriptureComparative Research Noteशोध टिप्पणी
A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
