mahataḥ paramavyaktamavyaktātpuruṣaḥ paraḥ | puruṣānna paraṃ kiñcitsā kāṣṭhā sā parā gatiḥ
The hierarchy continues: above the Great Self is the Unmanifest (avyakta — primordial undifferentiated state); above that, the Puruṣa. Beyond the Puruṣa, nothing. The terminus is reached.
Meaning
Higher than the Great is the Unmanifest; higher than the Unmanifest is the Person. There is nothing higher than the Person — that is the limit, that is the highest goal.
Direct literal rendering preserving Sanskrit philosophical terminology.
Vyakhya
Science & Modern Application
शोध संदर्भResearch context · not scriptureComparative Research Noteशोध टिप्पणी
A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
