यः सेतुरीजानानामक्षरं ब्रह्म यत्परम् ।अभयं तितीर्षतां पारं नाचिकेतं शकेमहि
yaḥ seturījānānāmakṣaraṃ brahma yatparam | abhayaṃ titīrṣatāṃ pāraṃ nāciketaṃ śakemahi
Prayer for the capacity to perform the Nāciketa rite — described as the bridge, the imperishable, the fearless shore. One rite carries three superlatives.

जो यज्ञ करने वालों का सेतु है, जो अक्षर परम ब्रह्म है, जो पार जाने वालों के लिये अभय का परम-पार है — उस नाचिकेत-अग्नि को हम सिद्ध कर सकें।
अक्षरशः अनुवाद — मूल संस्कृत श्लोक के प्रत्येक पद का प्रत्यक्ष अर्थ।
May we be able (to perform) the Nāciketa fire — the bridge for those who sacrifice, the imperishable supreme Brahman, the fearless further shore for those who seek to cross.
