इन्द्रियाणि हयानाहुर्विषयांस्तेषु गोचरान् ।आत्मेन्द्रियमनोयुक्तं भोक्तेत्याहुर्मनीषिणः
indriyāṇi hayānāhurviṣayāṃsteṣu gocarān | ātmendriyamanoyuktaṃ bhoktetyāhurmanīṣiṇaḥ
The senses, like horses, naturally pull toward their objects. Without a skilled charioteer, they drag the rider into pleasure, distraction, addiction. The 'enjoyer' is the whole vehicle in motion.

इन्द्रियों को घोड़े और विषयों को उनका चरागाह कहा जाता है। शरीर-इन्द्रिय-मन से युक्त आत्मा को विद्वान् "भोक्ता" कहते हैं।
