ऋतं पिबन्तौ सुकृतस्य लोके गुहां प्रविष्टौ परमे परार्धे ।छायातपौ ब्रह्मविदो वदन्ति पञ्चाग्नयो ये च त्रिणाचिकेताः
ṛtaṃ pibantau sukṛtasya loke guhāṃ praviṣṭau parame parārdhe | chāyātapau brahmavido vadanti pañcāgnayo ye ca triṇāciketāḥ
Two principles inhabit the cave: the individual self and the supreme Self. They are like shadow and sunlight — different in nature but inseparable in scene. Knowers and ritualists alike recognize the pair.
अर्थMeaning
दो — पुण्य-लोक में ऋत (कर्म-फल) पीते हुए, गुहा (हृदय) में प्रविष्ट, परम पराध में स्थित — छाया-आतप के समान, उन्हें ब्रह्म-वेत्ता तथा पञ्चाग्नि-विद् और त्रिणाचिकेत-यजी कहते हैं।
अक्षरशः अनुवाद — मूल संस्कृत श्लोक के प्रत्येक पद का प्रत्यक्ष अर्थ।
